Substituted pyrroles of formula (I) wherein R<1> is hydrogen and R<2> is methyl or R<1> is methyl and R<2> is hydrogen or R<1> is hydroxymethyl and R<2> is methyl as well as pharmaceutically acceptable prodrugs or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof are antiproliferative agents useful in the treatment of cancer.
