<p>A process for producing optically active cycloalkyl[b]benzofurans characterized by starting with easily available optically active materials; effecting a reaction with the use of a transition metal, Mitsunobu reaction, or both of these reactions combinedly; and then effecting a cyclization reaction by using a metal or an organometallic reagent. The above process is applicable to both experimental production and industrial production without resort to any troublesome optical resolution procedures or enzyme reactions which consume much solvent and long reaction time and is hardly reproducible.</p> |
