<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable transmission with only a small number of messages by recording new information so that one of expected characters including the numbers of 0 to 9, characters A to Z, and a blank and expected symbols are included in one character group. SOLUTION: Electronic price label system(EPL) software 20 records an operator's request to modify information to be displayed on an EPL 18. The EPL software 20 converts the information into a single word to be transmitted in the form of a radio message by an EPL computer 12. When a binary hexadecimal word including arbitrary one of the numbers of 0 to 9, the characters A to Z, a blank and expected additional symbols is structured, three translation tables 22 are preferably used. The EPL software 20 schedules the transmission of a message and sends the message. An EPL circuit stores the word in a memory, decodes the message, and displays the new information in response to an indication in the word.</p> |
