The method involves feeding the deviation of the working point from a control line, the rate of change of the working point when approaching the control line and the revolution rate into a pumping prevention controller (5) as input parameters and processing all input parameters simultaneously according to a nonlinear control strategy depending on their validity. An Independent claim is also included for a regulator for regulating the flow of gas, especially natural gas, using a turbocompressor.
