<p>A pixel electrode and a switching element connected to the pixel electrode is formed on a light-transmitting substrate, and a mixture film containing a photosensitive prepolymer and a liquid crystal is formed on the substrate. The mixture film is exposed to a light with a first wavelength from the opposite side to the substrate, and thereby the photosensitive prepolymer is polymerized and cured, thus forming a protective resin film on the surface of the mixture film. Next, the mixture film is exposed to a light with a second wavelength from the back of the substrate through the substrate, and thereby the photosensitive prepolymer is polymerized and cured, thus forming a substrate-side resin film is formed on the substrate side. Further, the surface of the mixture film is exposed to a light with a third wavelength through the protective resin film, and thereby the photosensitive prepolymer remaining in the mixture film is polymerized and cured, thus forming a first resin film is formed on the inner side of the protective resin film. An opposition resin film is constituted of the first resin film and the protective resin film, and a liquid crystal where phase separation is present is placed between the first resin film and the substrate-side resin film. As a result, without needing any liquid crystal injection process taking a long time, a liquid crystal layer can be formed, the manufacturing process is simplified, and the manufacturing cost is lowered.</p> |
