The fuel tank has a wall which passes a magnetic field, a float movable with the level for level monitoring, a magnet (7) movable with the float and a magnetic field sensor mounted outside the wall. The magnet can move along the wall inside the tank. The sensor has a weakly magnetic flexural beam structure (5) with comb-shaped adjacently mounted contact tongues (6) movable against a resistive track (3) by the magnetic field.
