摘要 A method for producing a stainless steel material is provided to need no chrome carbide, to improve cost-efficiency without a coating step, and to obtain a material applicable to a separator of a fuel cell having high anti-corrosive property and low contact resistance. The method for producing a stainless steel material for a fuel cell comprises the steps of: forming an alloy by mixing metal elements in such a manner that the resultant alloy has the same metal composition as Type 316 ostenite stainless steel except Fe and containing 0.8-5.0 wt% of Nb substituting for a part of Fe; melting the alloy at 1250-1350 deg.C for 1-2 hours; cooling the alloy to 1000-1100 deg.C; aging the alloy at 1000-1100 deg.C for 1.5-2.5 hours to form precipitate of NbC, (Fe,Cr)2Nb or a combination thereof; cooling the aged alloy to room temperature; and subjecting the alloy to surface treatment including (1) shot blasting, (2) acid washing, or (3) shot blasting followed by acid washing.
