The invention relates to a frame (1) for a vehicle seat that is intended to be deformed, in part elastically and in part plastically, under the influence of forces, for example, in connection with a collision, whereby the frame (1) is executed in a metallic, hardened material. Known frames for vehicle seats have deformation zones that have a special geometry, for example, folding notches, whereby the said geometry dictates where the frame is to collapse during a collision. It is extremely costly to manufacture frames with the said special geometries. The present invention is distinguished in that to absorb energy during the plastic deformation, the frame (1) has at least one deformation zone (5) that has been imparted a reduced resistance via tempering.
|
