The furniture item has a lighting device (12), which comprises a panel of white light emitting semiconductor components (18). The semiconductor components are arranged on a common board (16). The semiconductor components are individually exchangeable in sockets (24) on the board. The board is arched or pliable. The semiconductor components are fitted in a housing (14), which in turn is fitted in a furniture part (10). The semiconductor components can also be individually held in separate holes in a furniture part, and are each arranged at the end of a cylindrical component inserted in the hole of the furniture part. A planar light conductor is incorporated for the further conduction of the light emitted by the semiconductor components. |
