A solar panel collector system is comprised of a series of modular components which can be installed as required to meet the conditions at the location in question. The panels are self-supporting with a solar surface of preferably foam glass. The glass has hatched lines and the surface pores are sealed, providing a surface which provides an efficient solar energy absorber. The panel foam glass is supplied as a web of material which is cut to the desired length and width, and which is bonded to the supporting frame by an adhesive. The panel acts as both a solar heat collector, and a collector of photovoltaic electrical energy. |
