Device and process for preparation of a transponder

The device has readers (5) for registering data about the textile from labels (3) applied on the textile. The read-in data is used to prepare a transponder containing data relevant for the washing and/or drying the textile (fabric type, color, maximum temperature, other care restrictions, etc. An output device is provided for the transponder.
