A device for mixing fodder, which device is provided with a mixing chamber (1) comprising one or more mixing units (5), which are rotatable about substantially vertical axes (6), and a side wall (2), which is at least partially curved. The side wall (2) is provided with an opening. The device is furthermore provided with a loading unit (9) for introducing the fodder into the mixing chamber (1), which loading unit (9) can pivot to a position wherein the loading unit (9) closes the opening.
