The battery pack 200 is releasably attached to the housing 106 of an electronic device 100, such as a mobile phone, by fixed latches 242, (304,305,Fig 3) at each end of the housing which engage with corresponding notches (300), 214, 215 on the battery pack. The notches at each end of the housing are set at different depths. The contact arrangement has a flat contact 220 carried on the battery and a spring contact (310) carried on the housing. Upon mating of the battery and the housing, the spring contacts deflect and urge the battery pack 200 into secure engagement with the fixed latching arrangement. In alternative arrangements, the latches and notches may be transposed, as may the flat and spring contacts. |
