PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planting base material capable of floating on the surface of water, which is prevented from being damaged and washed away by waves in a dam and which is easy to construct while contributing to cost reduction. SOLUTION: A planting base material 3 laid on a face of slope 2 has a water absorbing/retaining layer 5 at its bottom and has a growth base layer 6 placed at its top. Further, a seeded nonwoven fabric 7 is placed on the layer 6 and their respective upper and lower surfaces are covered with netted sheets 8, 8. Also, the lower netted sheet 8 is provided with bag parts 8a, 8a... for packing floats 10, 10.... If the level of water in a dam has risen, the planting base material 3 can be floated on the surface of the water by virtue of the buoyancy of the floats 10, 10... to plant the face of slope 2 and the surface of the water to provide a good view. |
