PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inspect printed matters with a simple process by making use of a small image memory. SOLUTION: A test pattern 720 is printed on the upper end part of each page of printing paper. The test pattern 720 is extremely small and not remarkable pattern, e.g. in the form in which the straight line in the main scanning direction every color employed in printing is disposed at predetermined distances. When the completion of printing, only images in the part are taken in to subsequently be compared to a reference pattern data for the property of printing. This can detect loosing of picture elements, streaking, registration of printing positions of a plurality of heads, and the like. |
