<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic controller capable of performing a coping process in abnormalities prior to a control process when a control program and control data unsuitable for a control target are written in a non-volatile memory, and capable of preventing the control target from being specified before the electronic controller is mounted on a vehicle. SOLUTION: A B-identification code for indicating a model of an engine to be controlled by an ECU 1 is previously stored in a stand-by RAM 12 in the ECU 1 and also stored in a ROM 61 of an ignition key 60 capable of being data-communicated with the ECU 1. When the B-identification code is not read from the stand-by RAM 12, the B-identification code stored in the ROM 61 is used to judge that it coincides with an A-identification code included in a control program written in a flash ROM 11 and indicating a model of the engine conforming the control program. When both identification information do not coincide with each other, a warning lamp 99 is turned on.</p> |
