PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an imaging apparatus employing binary laser output of on/off in which a photosensitive body can be exposed by such extent as the potential is not saturated after exposure without using a transmissive filter, and the like, and the image is subjected to stabilization control based on the measurements of surface potential after exposure. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus for forming a reference latent image by exposing the surface of a photosensitive body 11 charged under reference charging conditions with laser light and controlling the image forming conditions based on the measurements of potential of the reference latent image comprises a control section 50 for controlling laser exposure in a region corresponding to the reference latent image such that the scanning distance of one on/off cycle will be one half of the beam spot diameter or less. |
