PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound capable of realizing rewritable optical recording media having excellent durability and enabling the regeneration of records with short wavelength laser and useful for high density optical recording media by forming a complex from a boron compound and a dibenzopyrromethene. SOLUTION: A chelate compound of formula I [R1 -R11 are each H, a halogen, nitro, cyano, OH, a 1-20C (halogeno)alkyl, an alkoxy(alkyl), an aryl (oxy) or the like; R12 and R13 are each F, a 1-20C alkyl, an aryl(oxy) or the like, wherein at least one of R12 and R13 is a group except F; R2 and R3 , R3 and R4 , R4 and R5 , R7 and R8 , R8 and R9 , and R9 and R10 may be bound to each other to form an aromatic ring, respectively]. The compound of formula I is obtained, for example, by reacting a compound of formula II with a compound of formula III, reacting the obtained dipyrromethene compound with a boron trifluoride compound and subsequently converting the fluorine atom of the obtained compound of formula IV into a prescribed group. |
