PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an aromatic amine by one step in good yield from a corresponding aromatic compound. SOLUTION: This method for producing an aromatic amine of formula III comprises reacting an oxime derivative of formula I [R1 is an alkyl, phenyl or pyridyl; R2 is H, a halogen, an alkyl or an alkoxyl; (n) is 1, 2 or 3] with an aromatic compound of formula II (R3 , R4 and R5 are each H, a halogen, an alkyl, an alkoxyl or the like) in the presence of an acid catalyst, and allowing an acidic aqueous solution to act on the product. |
