PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a walking aid that can support a body nicely, has directional stability and steerability, is powerful enough to negotiate an obstacle and excels in safety and appearance. SOLUTION: The walking aid is equipped with a frame 3 formed in a manner of surrounding the front from both sides of a walker, large diameter rear wheels 1 pivoted to the frame 3 and located on both sides of the walker, a front wheel 2 mounted onto the frame 3 through a steering mechanism and located ahead of the walker, a steering shaft 17 that is connected to the steering mechanism, the lower end of which is supported rotatably on the frame 3, and extends upward, and a body supporting frame 21, and the weight of the walker is supported by the body supporting frame 21, the front wheel 2 is steered by the swinging of the body supporting frame 21 around the steering shaft 17. Preferably the rear wheels 1 are pivoted at an angle that makes it look slightly broadened downward as viewed from front and rear, thereby stabilizing the walking aid. |
