PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure plenty of water supply in a cooling step and to shorten the cooling time in a pressure device for sterilization which performs the sterilizing treatment of cooked foods in a hermetically sealed state in a soft packaging container. SOLUTION: There is sterilized under pressurized conditions objects 3 to be sterilized by feeding steam and pressurized air in a chamber 5 while detecting the temperature inside the chamber 5 with a controller 33 and a temperature sensor 32, and both by feeding cooling water inside the chamber 5 through a water supply means and by feeding pressurized air in the chamber 5 to cool objects 3 under pressurized conditions, and at the same time by controlling an evacuation means while detecting the pressure inside the chamber 5 in cooling objects 3 with a pressure sensor 40.
