PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester film for lamination molding/fabrication with a metal plate which can deal with severe molding/fabrication conditions when cans or the like are molded and shows high wear resistance and acceptable taste characteristic, especially superb adhesive properties after a retorting process and suitability for use applications to metal cans. SOLUTION: This polyester film is of a biaxially stretchable lamination type with two or more layers formed. The content of a free aromatic dicarboxylic acid monomethylester in the film of a metal plate side layer is 2 ppm or more, and the content of a free aromatic dicarboxylic acid monomethylester in the film of a non-metal plate side layer is 2 ppm or less.
