PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the manufacturing cost of an image recorder by driving both an ink cartridge carrying section and an ink hammer with a single driver. SOLUTION: The image recorder comprises a roller 22 for carrying an ink cartridge 11 and a drive motor 31 as a drive source for both link mechanisms 30a, 30b pressing a solid ink 23 and constructed such that transmission of a driving power from the drive motor 31 to the carry roller 22 is switched by means of a planetary gear 40b. Since driving power is transmitted to the carry roller 22 only the ink cartridge 11 is carried and not not transmitted when the drive motor 31 drives the link mechanisms 30a, 30b, both the carry roller 22 and the link mechanisms 30a, 30b can be driven with single drive motor 31. |
