PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method to downsize an electric propulsion device. SOLUTION: This electric propulsion device is composed of an engine 1, a synchronous generator 2, thyrister converters 3, 4, a synchronous motor 5, propeller 6, a field current setter 15, a gate control circuit 31, and a field current setter 32. Operation by a commutatorless motor of direct current type is conducted at the time of ordinary operation, voltage generated in the synchronous motor 2 is made to be zero by the setter 32 at the time of idle peration, and a prescribed braking current flows in a route from the synchronous motor 5 to the thyrister converters 3, 4 by phase-control of respective thyristers of the thyrister converter 4 in the condition that the thyrister 3 is made to be wholy conductive. |
