PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily obtain a lever having a beautiful surface and an excellent molding precision by forming the lever of a water discharging device (faucet) controlling the flow rate by a lever handle with a specified brass content and composition by use of a forging die. SOLUTION: A brass material which has an apparent Zn content of 37-46 wt.%, a ratio ofβ-phase of 30-80% at 480-650 deg.C, and a crystal structure with 15μm or smaller average crystal sizes is used to impart a high ductility and a low deformation resistance at a low temperature. A brass material having a composition of a Zn content of 37-46 wt.% and a Sn content of 0.5-7 wt.%, a ratio ofα-phase of 44-65%, a ratio ofβ-phase of 10-55%, and a ratio ofγ-phase of 1-25% at 450-550 deg.C respectively, and a crystal structure with 15μm or smaller average crystal size, can be used also. The lever handle 4 is formed by forging at 650 deg.C or lower by use of a brass mold vertically divided. In this way, this forging product 4 can be prevented from dezincification and adhesion of oxidezed film on the surface of the product.
