PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dipyrromethene-metal chelate compd. which comprises a dipyrromethene compd. and a dioxometal deriv. and is useful as an optical recording medium which makes recording and reproduction with a short- wavelegth laser possible and is suitable for high-density recording. SOLUTION: This dipyrromethene-metal chelate compd. is represented by the formula (wherein R1 to R7 are each H, a halogen, nitro, cyano, hydroxyl, amino, carboxyl, sulfo, alkyl, halogenoalkyl, alkoxyalkyl, alkoxy, alkoxyalkoxy, aryloxy, dialkylaminoalkoxy, alkylthioalkoxy, acyl, alkoxycarbonyl, alkylaminocarbonyl, dialkylaminocarbonyl, alkylcarbonylamino, or the like). Dioxometal derivs. such as acetylacetonate salts, acetates, etc., of Mg, Al, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Sn, Pd, etc., are listed as the dioxometal derivs. for forming the chelate compd. |
