PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an L-lysine feed supplement with a final L-lysine purity within the range of theoretically about 35% to 80% L-lysine, measured as a percentage of a freebase per kg, more preferably about 50 to 80% L-lysine. SOLUTION: This method for producing a granular L-lysine feed supplement comprises adding a material containing L-lysine to an L-lysine fermentation broth or a fraction of the L-Lysine fermentation broth. The material is added in an amount so as to provide a final L-lysine feed supplement with an L-lysine purity within the range of about 35% to 80% L-lysine, measured as a percentage of freebase per kg, more preferably about 50 to 80% L-lysine. The fraction of the L-lysine fermentation broth is obtained by any suitable separating means such as ultrafiltration or centrifugation. The method further comprises a drying step that may involve any suitable drying means such as a spray granulator, a spray dryer, a tray dryer, a drum dryer, a rotary dryer and a tunnel dryer. |
