PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game device and an information recording medium changing the set value of the moving ability or the state of a character according to the difference of height by providing a partial area with the difference of height in an area, where a character can move, when the character moves in the partial area. SOLUTION: A second information recording medium 116 such as CD-ROM recorded with a game program is set to a main body device 100 to load to CPU 102. Thereby, the device 100 is made into a game device provided with an area range setting means setting the range of the area which can be moved by the character having a prescribed moving ability, a partial area setting means setting the partial area having the optional difference of height in the range of the area set by the partial area setting means and a set value changing means changing the set value of the moving ability or the state of the character according to the difference of the height of the partial area when the character moves in the partial area set by the partial area setting means. |
