<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition coil for an internal combustion engine, capable of being easily attached. SOLUTION: An ignition coil is provided with an attaching screw 3 to be inserted through an attaching hole 21 formed on an iron core 2, and a temporary holding tool 4 for holding the attaching screw 3. The outside diameter D0 of a threaded hole inserting part 32' for the attaching screw 3 is made to be smaller than the root diameter D2 of a threaded part 33, and the length L1 of the threaded part 33 is made to be smaller than the thickness T of the iron core 2. The temporary holding tool 4 is composed of a front side contact piece 41 to be brought into contact with the iron core 2 at one end and the other end of the attaching hole 21, a back side contact piece 42, and a connecting piece 43 for connecting both contact pieces. A deformed hole 45 having the diameter larger than the ridge diameter D1 of the threaded part 33 of the attaching screw and having a plurality of inward protrusions 44 to be brought into contact with the outer periphery of a cylindrical part 32 of the attaching screw from the inner periphery is formed on the front side contact piece 41, and a large through hole 47 having the diameter larger than the ridge diameter D1 of the threaded part 33 of the attaching screw is formed on the back side contact piece 42. The cylindrical part 32 of the attaching screw is held by a plurality of inward protrusions 44 formed on the deformed hole 45 of the temporary holding tool 4 mounted on the iron core 2.</p> |
