PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce consumption of an emitted lubricant and to improve energy efficiency by supplying a minimum amount of the lubricant into a cam chamber. SOLUTION: In a cam chamber, a crank gear 21 fixed onto the crank shaft 2, a cam gear 22 engaged with the crank gear 21, a cam 23 driven by the cam gear 22, and a cam follower 27 driven by the cam 23 for driving intake/exhaust valves 26 via a rocker arm 24 are disposed within a crank case 1 having a lubricant reservoir 4 of spring-up type that pivotally supports the crank shaft 2 for reserving the lubricant. The cam chamber is also provided, at one end of the crank shaft 2 between a sealed bearing 11 for supporting the crank shaft 2 and a shaft seal 13 for the crank shaft 2, with an oil reservoir 20c for reserving the lubricant to the level where the crank gear 21 is soaked and an introduction hole 31 through which the lubricant of the crank case 1 is supplied to the oil reservoir 20c.
