PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a PBA overshoot caused by a sudden rise of WCMDBS without losing acceleration in an excess pressure controller that performs open loop control based on a basic control amount WCMDBS set according to the operating status of the engine until the actual excess pressure PBA rises to the target excess pressure POBJ, and then performs feedback control based on the target excess pressure WCMDFB obtained from the deviation of the POBJ and PBA. SOLUTION: When open loop control is performed (when FTBFB=0), WCMDBS and WCMDFB are compared (steps S12-19) When WCMDBS becomes greater than WCMDFB with a sudden rise of WCMDBS, the control amount WCMD is substituted for WCMDFB from WCMDBS (steps S12-17), and feedback control begins before PBA increases to POBJ and FTBFB becomes 1.
