PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the stable operating state by separately producing a longitudinal swirl of fresh air and exhaust gas and a longitudinal swirl of only fresh air in a combustion chamber, and realizing introduction of a large quantity of exhaust gas and stable ignition and combustion. SOLUTION: A combustion chamber 24 is provided among a cylinder 8, the top surface of a piston 10 and a head side recessed part 20, and two intake ports 26-1, 26-2 are opened and provided on the head side recessed part 20 on one side in the width direction from a cylinder axis of a cylinder head 16 across a virtual flat surface including the cylinder axis and to be drawn in the width direction of the cylinder head 16. Two intake ports having one end sides opened on the upper surface of the cylinder head 16 and the other ends communicated with two intake ports 26-1, 26-2, and for producing the vertical vortex are provided, a fuel injection valve is provided on an intake side wall part of the cylinder head so as to face the head side recessed part 20, an ignition plug is provided on the cylinder axis part of the cylinder heads 16 so as to face the head side recessed part 20, and an exhaust gas introducing port for partially recirculating exhaust gas from one of two intake ports to the combustion chamber 24. |
