PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a fibrous material layer having a high liquid pickup rate, high strength, wearing resistance and high pleasantness, producible at low cost. SOLUTION: In this method for producing a fibrous material layer for mainly aiming the incorporation into an absorbing article such as diaper, underwear type diaper, incontinence guard, sanitary napkin, etc. at least one bundle of continuous filaments (so-called tow 12) is taken and opened to separate the filaments. The tow 12 is uniformly widened to give a layer having a fixed filament distribution and then the layer is bonded at points, spots or lines of an adhesion pattern (with the proviso that the filaments are not mutually bonded substantially). |
