PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyester raw yarn excellent in fastness to nitrogen oxides and heat resistance. SOLUTION: This polyester raw yarn comprises a polyester prepared by copolymerizing 0.5-15 wt.% of a polyoxyalkylene glycol and having the residual ratio of the copolymerized polyoxyalkylene glycol to a phenolic antioxidant in the polyester raw yarn satisfying the formula: 3×10<-3> <=(I/P)<=5×10<-3> [I denotes the residual ratio (wt.%) of he phenolic antioxidant in the polyester raw yarn; P denotes the copolymerization rate (wt.%) of the polyoxyalkylene glycol in the polyester raw yarn].
