FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: device is intended for chamfering track rails in repair and maintenance of railway facilities. Device has gripping unit for fixing on rail, chamfering unit, adjusting unit in the form of bar and spring, attachment and detachment unit, power drive unit, centering and countersinking units with cutting strips. Power drive unit is made in the form of electric motor, engaging handle, and gear reducer. Gripping unit is made in the form of bracket which is connected with clamp. Chamfering unit is represented by spindle having spiral grooves. Direction of spiral grooves coincides with direction of spindle rotation. Seated in grooves are two balls for transmitting rotation to countersinking tool. Centering unit is made in the form of cone which is intended for introduction into rail hole and for fixing of spindle end. Attachment and detachment unit includes handle which is connected with gripping unit. Spring is installed in adjusting unit between nut and countersinking tool. Aforesaid embodiment of chamfering device has cutting strips of longer service life. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 1 dwg
