FIELD: construction engineering. SUBSTANCE: these metal beams can be used as load-bearing structures and also as shuttering members. Thin-wall metal beam can be of various cross-sectional profile for example C-like which includes web and flanges. Separated in web is area of certain height. Located within limits of this area are lateral, vertical, and inclined stiffening ribs. Stiffening ribs are made hollow and can be profiled as segment or trapezoidal. Height and width of profile base are determined according to relations brought forward in description of invention. Aforesaid embodiment of thin-wall metal beam allows for higher loads for bending beams and for beams subjected to axial and overcenter compression. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 4 cl, 6 dwg
