A vessel (1) for carrying out operations such as offshore drilling and production is designed having two bows (11 and 12). The ship has a vertical aperture or well (17) and supported therein a rotating part (6) which can be anchored to the seabed (4) by means of mooring lines (5), so that the rotating part (6) becomes a geostationary component. The well (7) and the rotating part (6) are located eccentrically relative to the centre of the vessel and furthest from the bow (11) which during normal operations will face into the wind and weather. If the weather conditions exceed a certain limit, the vessel (1) can be turned 180 DEG , with the other bow (12) designed as a storm bow, facing into the wind and weather. |
