FIELD: machine manufacturing, predominantly, automobile and tractor equipment. SUBSTANCE: gear is intended for protection of joints, shafts, bearings, bushings and other rotating parts against fouling with dust, dirt and the like. Flexible cover of unspecified form made of two or several longitudinal parts is anchored on shaft of rotating unit with the aid of clamps. Longitudinal parts of cover are interjoined by means of joining locks and are fixed with the help of braids carrying joining locks. In addition bonding and sealing substance is applied to surfaces of joining locks of longitudinal parts of cover and flexible braids. EFFECT: reduced labor input for replacement of worn-out cover without disassembly of unit of machine, increased strength of cover and improved protection against fouling. 1 cl, 3 dwg
