The invention relates to a rotor for a commutating machine, comprising a rotor shaft (10), a rotor body (11) which accommodates a rotor winding (14), and a commutator (12). Said commutator (12) has an insulating body (16) which is placed on the rotor shaft (10) and is rotationally fixed in relation thereto, and a plurality of commutator segments (17) which are positioned on the insulating body (16). The commutator segments (17) have commutator risers (18) for connecting the connection wires (15) of the rotor winding (14), said risers being bent away from the commutator segments (17). According to the invention, the insulating body (16) is axially supported on its designated rotor body (11) face so that the commutator risers (18) and the connection wires (15) can be mechanically and electrically connected without altering the rotor geometry, using the advantageous ultrasound-torsion welding technique.
