The invention concerns an optical component consisting of channels (541, 542) wherein are arranged liquids having an appropriate refractive index. By displacing the liquids inside the channels using suitable actuators, light is selectively guided through the liquid. By selecting an appropriate refractive index, the light beams are deviated according to a particular angle. By means of such a miniaturised component, the light beams can be directed at high frequency. In a base light conducting body (5), suitable void spaces (54) are connected to channels, and in the channels is placed a liquid whereof the refractive index corresponds substantially to that of the base body. The liquid is displaced in the channels by means of piezoelectric actuators arranged in the void spaces. Thus, the light passing through the base body is selectively deviated in two different directions and an optical switch is obtained. |
