<p>An item dispensing system (29) having modular and distributed components that are suitable for use at POS counter (20). Item dispensing units (58) are placed beneath the counter (20) and are electrically connected by a cable to a retailer keypad (41) and display (44) which, in turn, is electrically connected by a cable to a customer keypad (49) and display (54). A panel (30) having images representing the available games to be played is applied to the top of the counter surface (26). Thus, a customer can easily pay for and select items to be purchased. Items (51) are automatically dispensed, collected by the retail clerk and provided to the customer.</p> |
