The axle (6) of the worm wheel (8) is located in a sleeve (5) mounted int he gearbox housing. The axle hole in the sleeve is eccentric with the rotational setting of the sleeve adjusting the spacing of the worm gear to the pinion (12). The sleeve has a flange (13) which locates the sleeve axially and which also serves as a spacer for the worm wheel w.r.t. gearbox housing, with the motor shaft driven directly from an electric motor. The eccentric sleeve has a press fit into the housing with the fit able to take a torque of 2 to 10 Nm before rotating. The eccentricity of the sleeve is such that if the sleeve is rotated in the direction of the worm wheel rotation the spacing between the worm gear axle and that of the pinion is reduced.
