TREATMENT OF SUNBURN

A method of treatment of acute sunburn which requires administration and/or application of both oral and topical compounds or preparations which in combination act synergistically as an effective treatment of acute sunburn, the method including application of a pharmaceutically and therapeutically acceptable cream base including anti-inflammatory and anti-alloquin compounds to the sunburn-affected area of skin, and oral administration of pharmaceutically and/or therapeutically effective amounts of ascorbic acid, Indomethicin and oral corticosteroids. Pharmaceutically and/or therapeutically effective formulations for use in the treatment of acute sunburn are also claimed.
