ABSORBENT ARTICLE WITH FLAPS COMPRISING MICROPOROUS FILM HAVING EXTENSIBILITY

An absorbent article having flaps is disclosed. The absorbent article comprises a topsheet, a backsheet and an absorbent core therebetween. The backsheet comprises a breathable microporous film. The breathable microporous film is made by stretching a mixture of a thermoplastic resin and inorganic fillers at least in one direction. The flaps comprise a composite sheet including a flap topsheet and an extension of the breathable microporous film. The flaps are imparted a predetermined extensibility thereon. The backsheet has breathability on substantially entire area of the backsheet. The breathable microporous film has a basis weight of 30 g/m<2> or above. At least a part of the composite sheet is imparted the predetermined extensibility by straining at least a part of the breathable microporous film. The predetermined extensibility is from about 50 % to about 100 %.
