The data bus (D) has a star coupler to whose inputs subscriber terminals are connected via an optical communications path with opto-electrical transducers (S/E Modul) which are connected before or after it. The transducers produce star coupler input signals in electrical form and determine the change in and/or absolute value of the useful electrical signal and output an electrical signal to the star coupler for a change by a predefined amount.
