The connector has two identical metal contact pieces which can be plugged together with corresp. longitudinal apertures (A) enabling contact-generating connection and which are made in a single stamping or cutting operation from a sheet strip, band or other material. The metal contact parts are completely flat over their entire surfaces and the longitudinal apertures, including the bounding lateral arms (S1,S2), are dimensioned so that the electrical contact of both parts is produced by the mutually contacting individual regions of the stamped part ends near the longitudinal aperture.
