The apparatus has a cleaning-cloth spindle with a longitudinal groove (18) into which a cleaning cloth is clamped by a rotary circular-sectioned clamping body (19) inside the groove. The clamping body inside the groove is turned from a first release position to a second, clamping position. The longitudinal groove tapers continuously outwards in relation to the spindle. Two convex clamping surfaces rest against the clamping body.
