The paint fault repair process is applied to the paint layer (32,34,36) on a bodywork sheet of a vehicle. The paint fault point has fluid applied to it through a jet (10) with the flow at a preset diameter and geometry. The fluid is a suspension of liquid or gas (water or air; if air, it may be cleaned and dried compressed air) and particles of known size. After application, the paintwork at the fault point is polished. The device comprises of a jet (10,12) surrounded by a casing (14), with an inlet (16) and outlet (18) with excess fluid sucked away via a cavity (28).
