The rolling bellows (4) of the pneumatic spring have one or more annular components (18) installed in a waisted area (16). This ensures that the stretching ability of the bellows is reduced. The annular component may be a metal or plastics ring which is open or closed, and is fitted to the outside of the bellows or is enclosed by it. The annular components may be embedded between the outer rubber and inner rubber layers of the bellows. An Independent claim is included for the manufacture of the pneumatic spring in which one or more annular components are installed in or on the rolling bellows during the manufacture of the bellows.
