Paste compositions containing (A) 5-25 wt% cellulose ester(s), (B) 15-45 wt% delustering and/or texturing agent(s), (C) 35-65 wt% organic solvent(s) and optionally wetting agents and dispersants, rheology modifiers, catalysts and other additives, with components (A) and (B) in a wt. ratio of (1:9)-(1:1). Independent claims are also included for (a) coating materials containing film-forming binder(s), crosslinkers, optionally solvents, pigments, fillers, conventional paint additives etc., and also a paste as above; (b) a process for the production of a matt or textured coating material, in which the paste is stored as a module and added to the coating material before use.
